Europa Yachts Joins Global Celebration of Lagoon Catamaran’s 40th Anniversary with Lagoon World Escapade Philippines

An Unforgettable Voyage: Lagoon World Escapade Philippines 2024
Metro Manila, PH – The summer skies were filled with bright sails as Europa Yachts‘ Lagoon, a renowned leader in the catamaran yacht industry, celebrated its 40th year through the Lagoon World Escapade. The 3-day event, held from May 17 to May 19, 2024, saw the stunning waters and coves of Cavite and Batangas host the Philippine leg of the celebration.
Day 1: The Adventure Begins
Day 1 was packed with highlights. The festivities kicked off with a thrilling sailing rally as our Lagoon fleet set sail from Caylabne Bay Resort & Marina, navigating past the historic El Fraile, a reinforced concrete sea fort at the mouth of Manila Bay built during the American colonial period.
The rally continued to Santelmo Cove, affectionately known to Lagoon sailors as “Little Boracay,” where we were greeted by a stretch of fine white sand beach. Here, we indulged in a traditional Filipino boodle fight, a kamayan-style culinary experience where food was served on banana leaves for everyone to enjoy together as a family.
The day concluded with a finale at Punta Fuego, featuring a feast, entertainment, and refreshments at Il Jardineto, courtesy of our amazing partners.
Day 2: A Historic Achievement
Day 2 brought even more excitement. All Lagoons, from the 40 all the way to the SEVENTY8, rallied towards Terrazas de Punta Fuego, creating an awe-inspiring sight as the boats sailed together. After about two hours of setting up our community mooring, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! This milestone was a historic achievement, with 17 Lagoon catamarans participating in the circular mooring activity, the highest number ever recorded. The day was filled with unforgettable moments as beers and barbecues were passed around, people joyfully jumped into the water, and everyone reveled in the shared experience.
Richard Sarinas, Europa Yachts’ CMO, remarked, “Only Lagoon and Europa Yachts can bring together such a remarkable global sailing event, uniting enthusiasts from every corner of the world.” This statement encapsulated the spirit of the event, as the Lagoon World Escapade in the Philippines truly brought together a global community of sailing enthusiasts.
The celebration concluded with an awarding ceremony for various sailing and social activities, including a photo and reel contest that showcased the creativity of the participating Lagoon sailors and adventurers.
